Christmas sales are in their last week and I wanted to share with you the opportunity to buy gorgeous Amanda Wakeley dresses on sale. Here are some of my favourites which I think will be suitable for an elegant affair. The top two are very chic and sophisticated whilst the bottom two dresses are more classically beautiful.

I see a lot of black and white inspired weddings these days. I personally find them very glamorous and stylish if they are tastefully done. If you also have a black and white wedding theme, I think the first two dresses could be ideal evening dresses for the after party, or they would also make stunning bridesmaids’ dresses. Either way, they will be fabulous additions to your wedding day.

Marchesa Wedding Dresses – Bridal Resort 2010 Collection

To all our style savvy brides-to-be, check out the beautiful Marchesa wedding dresses for 2010. They all look so ethereal, elegant and romantic… and I LOVE all of them.

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig never fail to impress us with their beautiful creations ranging from chic cocktail dresses to stunning evening gowns that frequent the red carpet (see also our post on Marchesa evening dresses). Now they have also added wedding gowns to their collection and all you ladies in search of a show-stopping designer wedding dress will no doubt be thrilled to discover what they have in store for you in the New Year!

Pet-a-Porter 2009

Highlight of the evening will of course be the fashion show. You will see adorable dogs in their canine couture designer clothes created by some of the world’s well-known designers like Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, Robert Rodriguez and milliner Victoria Grant.

If you are a dog lover, then this show is for you especially if you want to include your most beloved dog as part of your bridal entourage on your wedding day. Like the 2008 Pet-a—Porter, you can buy all designer dog clothes and accessories during the event so it will be a fun evening to look forward to.

Consider this a fun break from work and wedding planning – dog fashion show, shopping and champagne – surely a real treat for all the brides out there!

The Spanish super-chef behind the world’s best restaurant El Bulli in Barcelona came up with his own cutlery collection that is innovative, chic and stylish. The Baroque cutlery as shown on the photo is sold in Harrods at £169 for 18 pieces. The set has a beautiful twist of modernity with elegant patterns and curves that every home chef enthusiast will love. If his designs pass your sophisticated taste, then perhaps it is something you can add on your wedding registry.

This Marchesa bridal gown was custom designed by the talented Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig as a one-off piece. It is pricey but if you are a big fan, then maybe this price is acceptable to you. I must admit, it looks nice though but it is too extravagant a purchase for moi.

Calling all the bride and groom pet lovers!!!

Watch out for the Pet-a-Porter annual fashion show at Harrods on the 25th September 2008.

It is a show worth seeing and your jaws are sure to drop when you see Chihuahuas, West Highland Terriers and Schnauzers wiggle their tails as they model one-off pooch fantastic pieces from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Juicy Couture, Stephen Webster, Pet Kingdom, and many more.

Nowadays, many brides and grooms also include their dogs on their bridal party which can be so fun, and oh, so adorable. You will see wonderful pieces for your dogs that you can buy straight after the show which they can wear on your big day. But if you would rather have all the attention on you, then you can just add some of those fabulous pieces added on your wedding gift registry that your pampered dog can enjoy later.

They are offering guests fortified wines from the Porto region paired with a sumptous five course meal at Harrods Tapas Bar. Go check it out to see all the varieties of Port wines and see how the somelliers demonstrate wine’s versatility and fine qualities making each one of them perfect for a variety of different food and cooking styles that can possibly be served on your wedding.

Port wines are usually richer, heavier and possess a higher alcohol content than other wines. It is regarded as a perfect tipple to end a meal so it is commonly served as a dessert wine and often with cheese.
