Pratesi

I was in Harrods yesterday checking out the bed linen department and I quickly checked out Pratesi. I have heard so much about this company and the cost of their bed sheets which usually starts at about £2,000 per set. I find it difficult to absorb how some people can justify this cost, but I guess there will always be people who would indulge on such luxury goods.

Pratesi is widely used by luxury hotels like The Ritz and St.Regis. It is the ultimate name for bed linens and they are known all over the world for using only the finest Egyptian cotton that is ultra-smooth, very refine with thread counts so high (550-600) that makes other linens feel so rough in comparison. It is meant to be the most luxurious of Italian sheets that is loved by Angelina Jolie and Elizabeth Taylor to name a few. I was already shocked by the price but I was also surprised to hear about the production time it takes for them to manufacture these linens.  According to the sales rep, it usually takes two weeks per square meters and there is a waiting period of two months for every order and sometimes four weeks depending on the style you order.

I personally love and enjoy shopping for stylish, beautiful and comfortable bed sheets, pillow cases, cushion covers and throw to dress up our bed but I will never be able justify this cost. Here are some photos and would love to hear your thoughts about them.
