Why Do I Need Wedding Insurance?
Insurance — By Dolce Sposa on December 23, 2009 at 7:48 amWhen you buy a home, a new car or go on holiday, it is very likely that insurance will be right at the top of your list of things to arrange. But when it comes to weddings, people often fail to realise just how essential it is to take out wedding insurance.
Wedding insurance is now considered one of the most important purchases for your big day. Weddings are expensive events, and people are becoming increasingly aware of the huge financial burden they could face should something go wrong. Everyone wants their wedding to go off without any problems, but things can and do go wrong – and when they do the costs can quickly add up.

Accidents and Unforeseen Events
Although no one wants to worry about their big day being a disaster, as with anything in life, events can sometimes intervene and ruin your day. You could fall ill, have an accident or experience a death in the family, any of which could lead to the cancellation of the event. But in such a situation you can’t expect the hotel that you have hired for the reception to pay back all your deposit, and if you fail to carry insurance your money will be lost.
Problems with Suppliers
No matter how carefully you plan your wedding day, you will have to rely on a lot of other people all performing their roles without fail. The reception venue, the car-hire company, the cake company, the photographer – anything could happen to any of these suppliers that could affect your big day.
The venue may not include the promised amenities and you end up taking them to court; the company that is making your wedding cake could go bankrupt just before the wedding and you will have to fork out for another expensive cake at the last moment; the photographer might fall ill and you need to hire another one at the last moment. Insurance covers all of these possible events so you will never be left picking up the pieces for someone else’s failure.
Peace of Mind
A wedding can be a very stressful occasion. You want it to be perfect, but this can sometimes put even more pressure on you (added to the fact that you are about to make the most important decision of your life!). Most people cannot help but become a bit stressed and worried that everything is going to go alright.
Rather than go through the whole day with this fear, taking out a wedding insurance policy means that you are covered should the worst happen. After spending thousands of pounds on this one day, you simply don’t want to have to worry about the financial burden should an unexpected and unwanted event arise.
With a wedding insurance policy, if the worst was to happen then at least you don’t have to worry about the costs involved, meaning you can enjoy your day as you are supposed to.
